Lady Jackets ranked No. 1

Jeff Davis High’s softball team will head to Macon for the opening rounds of the 2023 Georgia High School Association playoffs. The Super Regional at Academy For Classical Education Charter School (ACE Charter) is scheduled for Oct. 18-19.

The Lady Jackets carry a 24-3 record into the playoffs and are 15-2 in region play. They were scheduled to play Cook on Thursday but that game would not affect the region standings so it was cancelled.

In Macon, Jeff Davis will play Josey Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the first game of the 4-team double elimination playoffs. Playing in the Super Regional at ACE Charter are ACE, Jeff Davis, Josey and the No. 4 team from Region 3-AA, probably Pierce County. ACE (24-3) is a No. 1 seed, Jeff Davis (24-3) is No. 2, Josey (2-4) is No. 3 from Region 4 and Pierce (11-11) is No. 4 from Region 2.

ACE Charter is located at 5665 New Forsyth Road in Macon.
