Rev. Dewitt R. Corbin, 84

Rev. Dewitt R. Corbin, 84, passed away Oct. 3 at Pineland Personal Care Home.
Mr. Corbin was born in Glenwood.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Nora Annie Bell Corbin, wife, Marian Dyal Corbin, brother, Labay Corbin and sister, Mary Nell McNeal.
Mr. Corbin was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, ordained minister and bi-vocational pastor (since 1973). He attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church, which he considered his home church. He was a Hospice Chaplain, Brewton-Parker College Bachelor of Arts Summa Cum Laude in 1994, Andersonville Theological Seminary Master of Christian Counseling in 2005, and a licensed Clinical Christian Counselor and certified Temperament Counselor, published author of “Walking with the Dying: Chronicles of a Hospice Chaplain.”
Rev. Corbin has touched and was truly a blessing to so many, many lives during his ministry,. He was a wise Christian man, could always light up a room with his conversation, always talking about the Lord, and his smile was contagious. He will truly be missed.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Andy Corbin, Craig (Jennifer) Corbin, Jared (Mandy) Corbin; daughter-in-law, Brigette Corbin; grandchildren, Bethany Victoria Corbin and Bre Elizabeth Corbin.
Services will be announced later.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Mt. Zion Learning Center.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home was in charge.
