XC Teams dominate at Wayne

The Jeff Davis High cross country teams dominated the Wayne County Yellow Jacket Invitational, winning three of four races.
Pierce Parlor finished third overall in the boys varsity race with a 5K time of 17:38.49. Also scoring for the JD boys were Josue Avila (7th), Gael Valora (11th), Mario Franco (14th), Kevin Vega (16th), Konner Munsayac (23rd), and Joselius Mendoza (30th).
The Yellow Jackets finished 1st out of 18 teams.
Ellie Kate Marchant paced the varsity girls with a 5th place finish in a time of 21:48.81. Other top Jeff Davis finishers were Ali Lewis (8th), Rebecca Lopez (10th), Mayrani Trejo (25th), Marley Powell (27th), Lily Relihan (28th) and Maria Rangel (29th).
The Lady Jackets finished 1st out of 16 teams.
In the jayvee girls competition, Aurie Taylor, Laysie Lewis and Christina Wilcox finished 1st, 3rd and 5th to lead Jeff Davis’ girls while the Jacket jayvee boys took the first five positions, led by Jovani Barragan. Finishing 2nd thru 5th were Will Morris, Eric Trejo, Bryan Hulett and D.J. Ryals.
