Ms. Janelle Hamm Strickland, 92

Ms. Janelle Hamm Strickland, 92, of Graham, passed away Aug. 19 at her residence with her family by her side.
Ms. Strickland was born Aug. 24, 1930, in Appling County.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William Briley Hamm and Addie Cowart Hamm, husband, R.A. Strickland, granddaughter, Candace Brandi Clotfelter, sisters, Gertrude Miles, Kathleen Bright, Essie Mae Floyd, Angie Lee Graham and Merleen Shumans; brothers, Warnell (Sam) Hamm, James Lester Hamm, Charles Felton Hamm, and John Edward Hamm.
She was a quiet, gentle, sweet, and kind lady. She had a big heart and enjoyed doing the little things for her children and her smile would radiate the room. She enjoyed gardening, working in her flowers (she had a green thumb) and could grow anything. She loved her family dearly, enjoyed spending time with and cooking for them. Her family remarks: “She was a beautiful precious Mama; we could call her and she could talk us through anything and just the sound of her voice would always comfort us.” She will truly be missed.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and James Stephens of Hazlehurst; son, Kenny Strickland of Statesboro; grandchildren, Wendy Brown, Kim Breedlove (Tony) and Dylan Mims; great-grandchildren, Kayla, Luke, Hunter, Cara, Caden, Evan, Ethan, Eli, Tyler and Cole; several nieces, and nephews.
Graveside services were held Aug. 22 in Graham United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Wigley officiating.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home was in charge.
