Ms. Mollie Virginia Floyd, 72

Ms. Mollie Virginia Floyd, 72, of Hazlehurst, passed away June 26 at the residence of her sister, Bessie Trowell.
Ms. Floyd was born Aug. 24, 1953, in Tampa., Fla., the daughter of the late Hoke Newell and Mollie Mills Newell.
She found happiness in simple things, whether she was fishing, preparing a home-cooked meal, coloring, or getting lost in a good book. She never missed her favorite game shows and soap operas and always enjoyed listening to music. Her cats – Gizmo, Nosey, Spot, and especially her cherished Lucky – held a special place in her heart. Above all, she cherished her family and was a devoted wife who lovingly cared for her beloved husband, Aubrey, throughout his life.
Ms. Floyd was a Certified Nursing Assistant, retired from Lumber City Nursing Home.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Aubrey Floyd Sr., son Christopher Shane Floyd, sister Pearlie Newell and brothers Jimmy Newell and Ralph Newell.
Survivors include her son Aubrey (Linda) Floyd Jr. of Sylvania; brother Henry (Teresa) Newell of Fitzgerald; sisters Bessie Trowell of Hazlehurst, Susie Newell of Fitzgerald and Christine Husted of Tampa; several nieces, nephews; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Memorial services will be held later.
