Mrs. Camille Lynn “Boots” Kimball, 85, of Graham, passed away peacefully Sept. 7.
She was the devoted wife of the late Charles Foster Kimball Sr., to whom she was married for 41 years.
Boots was born Jan. 25, 1940, and grew up in the Graham community of Jeff Davis/Appling County and attended Hazlehurst High School, where she was a proud member of the girls’ basketball team. Boots was also instrumental in the development of the 911 emergency response program in Appling County, where she worked for many years before retiring in the early 2000s.
She was preceded in death by her parents Hollis Howard Lynn and Cynthia Viola Clark; siblings Beulah Williams, Howard Lynn, Amy Davenport, Juanice “Micky” Hesters and Jarman Lynn; and beloved daughter and grandson Janet Dianne McDaniel Ali and grandson Christopher Ali, who lived with her and held a special place in her heart.
Boots is survived by children James David McDaniel, Curtis Lavan McDaniel and wife Debra, and Brenda Joyce McDaniel Stewart; stepchildren Charles Kimball Jr., Bambi Kimball and Stephanie Young; 22 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 1 p.m. Sept. 20 at Graham United Methodist Church. A funeral service will follow at 2:00, with interment in the church cemetery.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a meal in the church social hall following the service.
