Mr. Earl Hunt, 68

Services for Mr. Earl Hunt, 68, who died Dec. 29, were held Jan. 4 at Tallahassee Missionary Baptist Church in Hazlehurst.
Pastor Robert McArthur, Minister Shatoya Aylor and Pastor Joseph McLeod officiated with burial in Philadelphia Cemetery.
Mr. Hunt, known as “Old Folks”, was the son of the late Alonzo and Mary Hunt. He was educated in the public schools of Jeff Davis County. He was employed with Thornton’s Funeral Home for almost 20 years. He was a faithful employee and went to work daily, taking pride in his work. He was very fond of his little great-great-niece, Reagan. He loved all the little ones in a very special way.
Survivors include his four sisters, Aretha (Jerome), Pearl (Lossie), Diane, all of Hazlehurst and Sarah (Wayne) of Blackshear; three brothers, Jimmy of Hazlehurst, Jeffery (Denise) of Uvalda, and Readell (Retha) of Toccoa; special friends, Geraldine Thornton and James Melton and a host of relatives and friends.
Active pallbearers were Rodney King, Chad King, Chris McArthur, Tony King, Terry Sanders, and Willie Hunt Jr.
Music was provided by Bob McIver, Wayne Taylor, and Denise Dixon.
Thornton’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
