Mr. Paul Michael Creech, 37, of Hazlehurst, died July 21 in Milledgeville.
Paul was born Nov. 7, 1981, in Jeff Davis County. He graduated from Jeff Davis High School in 2000, he attended Georgia Military College in Milledgeville earning an associate degree, joining National Guard, serving for 12 years. Then he attended Georgia State College and University, was a member of Pi Kappa Phi, and retired as a Staff SSG. in the National Guard, serving tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. He was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include his mother, Angela Elizabeth Campbell of Hazlehurst; father, Michael T. Creech (Kim) of Hazlehurst; sister, Leah Harper of Royston; brother, Triston Blaylock of Chatsworth; maternal grandmother, Eleanor Campbell of Hazlehurst; paternal grandmother, Grace Creech of Hazlehurst; nephew, Mason Harper of Royston; aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services were held July 25 at Union Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Pete Schneider, the Rev. Duke Brack, the Rev. Danny Ellyson, and the Rev. Merle Webster officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery with full military honors.
Honorary pallbearers were Jordan Spires and all friends and family in attendance.
Active pallbearers Justin Fisher, Charlie Harrell, Doug Price, Kevin Williams, Alden Williams SFC, Neil Rentz, Gus Jones, and Eric Scarborough.
Music was rendered by Sharon Ussery, Jimmie Ryles and the congregation.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home was in charge.
